need help
I'm trying to install some home plans software on my new
XP system and I get a message that comes up when I try to
run the setup for the program to be installed. The message
follows.

"YOU CANNOT INSTALL THIS VB5 APPLICATION WITHOUT THE
LATEST SERVICE PACK FIRST BEING INSTALLED ONTO THIS
COMPUTER. PLEASE INSTALL THE LATEEST WINDOWS NT SERVICE
PACK AND RETURN THIS INSTALLATION."

The software was published by homestyles in 1999.

Thanks for any help anybody can give me.

Try running the install in compatibility mode. Right click on the setup
executable and select properties. Go to the compatibility that and select
"run this program in compatibility mode for:." Select either Windows NT4
or Windows 2000 in the list below. Apply the changes and then try to
install the program again.

If that fails you will need to contact the program author to see if they
have an update that will allow the program to install on Windows XP.
