Windows Messanger automatically starts when I open Outlook Express

I have unchecked the preferences, I have deleted the .Net pasport in the
password manager. Still every time I start Outlook express Messanger starts.
Is there a patch that will stop this?

Yep.

Shut down OE, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg

It won't start again.

You dont need a patch to fix this.
Just uninstall Windows messanger.
I had the same problem until i uninstalled Windows messanger.

Hi,

It's not a patch, it's a registry change.

And if you remove Windows Messenger, you will lose key features in Windows Live Messenger.

You probably want to keep Windows Messenger, right? If you don't, disable
access to it by going to 'Set Program Access and Defaults' and disabling
'Windows Messenger'.
