Hi guys
When I load up Display Properties and click on the
Desktop tab, a few seconds later, the window hangs, then
it closes and I'm informed that the was an error
with "Run DLL as APP" and it has to close.
Any ideas how to sort this out?
Thanks in advance
Tom

Try going to the command line (start - run - cmd) and entering sfc /scannow.
This will go through and check all of your system files and repair any
damaged ones. Make sure you have your Windows CD handy. It sounds as if you
have a corrupt file.

Thanks for your help, but that didn't make any difference.
Any other suggestions? Will it go pear-shaped if I just
download a new copy of the rundll32.exe file and replace
the old one?

rundll.exe is most likely not the problem - the whole point of this
executable is to host a dll (dynamic link library) in its memory space in
order to call functions that are contained therein. The problem is most
likely on the part of the dll that it is trying to host, which is why you
would want to sfc and check all of your files. If this didn't solve your
problem, you may want to try a system restore back to a time when everything
was working properly.
