Movie Maker: Audio Stops Playing?

When I play the movie I made, sometimes my audio randomly stops playing at
random spots. It used to work before. However, sometimes when I move the
timeline tracker back a little, then the audio starts to play. It's not that
there is music or any other audio also playing, it's just the people's voice
originally from the video. Also, sometimes the audio stops at the same spot
and sometimes it actually works. How come the audio just randomly cuts off
and stops playing? And how do I stop this from happening? I have Windows
Movie Maker 2.1 and Windows XP.

Sounds like you are playing the project file
in Windows Movie Maker. Have you tried
saving the project as a movie and playing
it with Windows Media Player?

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Yeah, I saved it on a CD to play. And when I put in the CD, I noticed the
audio stopped playing. That was how I found out there was something wrong
with the audio. So I went back to Windows Movie Maker to see what was wrong,
and I found it started there. (I thought it was the CD at first but I guess
not.)

Ok...then it's probably incompatible source

No, I've had this happen. Windows Movie Maker seems to have some quirks once
too many things are added to the timeline or once too many video effects are
used. One is this sound issue which has no explanation. Another is that when
you use speed up or slow down on too many clips, sometime the same sound
issue will be encountered, or sometime all clips following your most
recently adjusted one will also appear sped up or slowed down.
