View Full Version : Reisntall P Stack on XP Home

Blape
December 5th 03, 07:35 AM
I had a loose NIC when I plugged in the cable. It then
wiped out my IPstack on the PC.
I tried to reinstall XP again which appeared to create
more of a problem. It did not restore
the IP stack, however the SVCHost.exe now runs at 98-99%
the entire time. It will not get off
the hourglass and allow me to access the tool bar at the
bottom.

I did run the "netsh int ip reset [filename]" with no
success. Now when the PC starts up it will not
initialize the IP stack.
2 things.
1) How do I reisntall the IPstack on XP home to reconnect
to the I-Net.
2) what needs to be done to resolve the SVCHost.exe from
running away with the resources......

Any assistance would be appreciated without a total
reisntall of everything
