The connections settings in IE 7.6, in XP PRO SP2, do not "stick."
I am using a proprietary dialer and do not want the windows native dialer to
open. I have set the "never dial a connection" radio button on the
connections tab, but it gets reset after I use the proprietary dialer, and
then insists on opening the native dialer window if I am off-line, and have
left any browser window open.
This is a real annoyance, and I would appreciate any advice on how to stop it.

IE's File menu has an option to 'work offline'. You will have to set that
when closing your dialup connection.
