Greetings: Dell DM4400, Windows XP SP2, 1 GB memory. Problems are PC stops
functioning after 15 minutes if unattended. PC runs much better in Safe
mode. that Windows updates download slowly e.g 255 kb download had
downloaded 41% after 30 minutes, CPU runs 100% most of the time even though
I have all startup programs removed from startup.Have used Chkdsk, Defrag,
NAV 2007, Spysweeper, Windows Defender and no problem indicated? Any
suggestion or assistance will be greatly appreciated John L.

What does "PC stops functioning" specifically mean? Can you be more
specific?

Thanks for the reply. PC "PC stops functioning" reverts to desktop, stops
processing, cannot access Task manager or any program and has to be shut
down ("hard ") from CPU unit. John L.
