View Full Version : .mp4 format needs converting for Movie Maker
GreekGeek

I tried to convert an .mp4 format using Bink and Smacker but it didn't work.
How can I take this format and use it in Movie Maker in order to edit so
that I can upload to a website? Movie Maker doesn't recognize .mp4.
Thank you

Maybe the freeware Super would be worth a try.
SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer

(the mirror download site is faster)

Thanks for the recommendation. I have downloaded the program but it isn't
very easy to figure out. I'll work with it and see if I have success.
thanks again for the reply.

Try the following steps:
Drag/Drop your .mp4 into the field that says:
"Drop A Valid Multimedia File Here"
At #1....choose your output format... avi
At the bottom of the screen...click "Encode".
If you did not change the Output folder...your
converted video will be in the following folder::
C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER\OutPut
If this fails...there is a forum at the following link
where you can get some info:
eRightSoft Super Forum
http://www.erightsoft.com/Supforum.html
Good luck.....

I use Total video converter to make these conversions. It is very very
easy to use and powerful

FWIW...MPEG files can cause issues
with Movie Maker...
Have a look at the following articles:
