Program Installation and multiple users.

How can I install a program and have it accessible by only
one of the users of the system? I am running Windows XP
Professional. I have installed programs that give you the
option of having it available to all users or only the one
logged in doing the install. I would like to limit access
to sevaral programs without having to resort to password
protecting the executable file.

Not all applications have features that allow you to select in the fashion
you describe. Usually, in those cases you would install the application in
the user account to which you wish to grant access. The same would be true
of those that have the option you describe. In both cases, if the account
is a limited account, you would temporarily make the account an
administrator account, install the applicaton, then return it to its limited
status.

NOTE: some older application may still be available to all. Most
applications were not made for a multi-user environment. This usually
results in the application only being available in the account into which it
is installed but sometimes its exactly the opposite making it available to
all.
