someone suggested i get tweakui and change a setting. id
rather not... it was scrolling smoothly before and i
didnt have the program then.

so does anybody have any ideas why scrolling would look
skippy? any settings i could change anywhere?

Although I understand your point about its working before, you have =
nothing to lose by trying TweakUI. It's an innocuous program that just =
lets you make certain commonly-desired registry changes easily and =
safely. If the setting you change doesn't help, it's just as easy to =
change it back the way it was.

Try using System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when this
began. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

In addition to the previous suggestions, you may want to check to see if you
have an up-to-date display driver from your video card's manufactuerer. It
may be the case that some video acceleration features have been turned off.
