Hi

I need to send some friends a video that I have shot using my mobile
phone.
However because they are confidential, I obviously can not use
anything
public suck as youtube.com or facebook.com.

The trouble is that Windows can't by default read the ".3GP" format
that
they were originally stored in.

What is the best 'universal' format to convert my .3GP videos them
into?
I need something that wont require everyone to install any software
just
for me!

I tried converting them into .AVI but instead of being 2.5MB it
suddenly
turned into a file nearly 100 times as large. (i.e. 228 MB !!) - i.e.
WAY too
large to email.

- Any thoughts ?

Convert to wmv.
Import to movie maker and save using the email option which will bring the
size down again.

Hi Graham

Okay thanks - so Movie Maker is a freebie that comes with WindowXP
(SP2), yes?

First problem is: what is the best way to I convert into ".WMV"
format?

Movie Maker cant see my 3GP files!
(Although it can see some .AVI files)

Any thoughts?

Yes but what is the best way to convert to .WMV format?
All the utilities I've tried so far seem so work so badly - if at all.
I also tried converting to .AVI using about 5 different utilities, and
each time
the sound was converted okay but the picture was blacked out!
