Updating a variable in the complete directory

I have a directory were I need to change all documents from 2008 to 2009.
This yearly variable could be in the file name and/or in the file itself.

Currently we have someone go into all the files and update that yearly
variable.

Does anyone know how i could change the variable in complete directory?

A little freebee, "ReplaceInFiles" may help you to change the years (any
string) within the files.
