How to Copy-paste from Internet Explorer to Word

I used to be able to select a section from a website and paste it into Word.
Today my computer started acting as though is was pasting but after an hour
the computer was still locked up and had to be canceled. I shortened the
selection down to a couple lines and after a minute or two the selection
finally pasted into Word. Does anybody know what could be causing this.

I am using IE7 and Word 2000.

You should post the URL of the page where you are having trouble, so
that others can attempt to duplicate the results.
