Hi,

We are encountering a network printing problem involving an XP Media
Center Edition desktop and XP laptops. Even though network print sharing has
been set up, only our Vista laptop can print through the network. The error
message on our XP laptops is below.

"The server for the 'HP LaserJet P1006' printer does not have the correct
printer driver installed. If you want to search for the proper driver, click
OK. Otherwise, click Cancel and contact your network administrator or
original equipment manufacturer for the correct printer driver. "

We tried updating XP Service Pack 3 and all drivers but nothing seems to work.

Thanks for your help!

So have you checked to make sure that the printer driver is exactly the same
version on the server and the laptops?

One possibility is that the driver in use is part of/ supplied with windows,
and has limited features, in comparison to the OEM driver.
