View Full Version : Safely Remove Hardware icon in startup tray?

Why is it there? Apparently this icon relates to the
USB Mass storage Device at location 0 (which is
my 5 in 1 photo card reader) Or another question:
why aren't all of my hardware devices shown, and not just
this one?

The icon is present for the safe removal of any USB device that might have
pending read/write operations. Removing a device, such as an external hard
drive, before these are completed could cause data corruption. By using the
icon, those pending operations are completed and you are notified when it
is safe to disconnect the device.
