Set up a specific drive letter for a thumb drive?

My laptop has several drives mapped to specific letters. When I plug in my
thunb drive, it always identifies it as G:. One of our hardware guys set
this p for me, but I do not rememebr how he did it.

I just plugged in a different thumb drive to try to load a file onto my
laptop, and the drive does not show up in "My Computer". I think this is
because I have other drives mapped as D: E: F: and G:.

I can see the thumb drive in Device Manager, but I can't see a way to
specify which drive letter to use.

Can anyone help me out here? How can I explore this thumb drive?
