Hi Phil,
The *.dbx files are your Outlook Express Folders. I.e. the deleted
items.dbx is nothing else but your Deleted Objects folder in OE. Best
you choose the option to empty that whenever you close OE. Deleting
the file directly may confuse OE, though I would expect it just will
create a new one at next start.
Btw. the location is fairly strange, these *dbx files are usually in a
different, pretty hidden directory structure.
Do a Ctrl-F for *.dbx to find the others under your C:\Documents and
Settings\myusername\ branch.

not if it's the ONLY dbx file in that location - may be a hang-over from
a previous corruption. OE uses lots of dbx files in the same place.
