I hope someone can help i was running XP home edition on my comp which
is a HP Pavilion 441.uk and well basicly i turned the computer off
without shuting it down,i know i shouldnt have done and knew i
shouldnt do when i did!

Now when i turn the comp on i get UNMOUTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME and it tells
me to start up in safemode but that dosent work it also gives me an
option to go back to a previous known time it worked properly but that
dosnent work either my comp never came with a cd so i found a site
that told me i could download the setup file on to 6 floppys which i
did but every time i get to disk 4 it says "the file dmio.sys is
corrupted" i have tried to put the file on new disks but had the same
problem i even downloaded the same file from microsoft and still the
same
So please if anyone knows what i can do,also i really dont want to
lose my work that i have on the pc

Make sure the floppies you pulled down are the same service pack version as
what is installed on the OS.

Once you boot off the floppies, choose R for repair, C for console and run
chkdsk /r in recovery console.
