You shoud register your copy of Windows XP ...
There is a product key to every program , especialy for
Windows ... This is for not using a pyrat copy of it....

You could reinstall Windows XP again from an CD with it,
on wich should be that key. Otherwise you just call or
register to microsoft ... see their site for this...

No, nobody needs to register Windows XP. Registration is entirely =
optional and is primarily used by Microsoft for marketing purposes.

What people need to do is *activate* XP, not register it. But in his =
case, he apparently has a pirated version, and that's why he gets the =
error message when he tries to install SP1.

try and re-install (repair) XP
