Hi All,

I need to connect two receipt printers to a XP Pro (SP2)Box. One is USB and
the other is Parallel. I got the USB to install with no problems but cannot
seem to get the Parallel printer to install. Any tricks to this?

Unless the parallel printer has an installation disc that detects and
installs it, then it has to be done manually. The parallel port does not
have any auto plug and play capability. Go into the control panel and
select 'printers and faxes'. Select 'add a printer' from the left most pane
and follow the wizard. Unless XP has a built in driver, you will require
the driver from the manufacturer's web site or a CD.

Hi M.I.5¾,

I will give the "Add Printer" a whirl this afternoon. I will post back with
the results.

I have encountered a similar problem when adding two exactly the same
model printer. it seems that the printer driver install routines are
forcing the printing port at the time of install. If you install onto
USB and then re-install onto Parallel, then the routine seems to
replace the first install port selection.
