You haven't given us enough information so we can give you focused help. See
the links under the "How to Post" section for what details to include in
your next message. In the meantime:

1. How much free space remains on your hard drive?

2. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what
changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

3. The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

4. For the System Restore part (not the defrag), do you have a Symantec
product installed? Symantec (Norton) programs will interfere with System
Restore functioning.

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

System Restore

http://bertk.mvps.org/html/reinstall.html

You should check your hard drive for errors and bad sectors. Select
Start, Run, type cmd and hit ENTER. Type "chkdsk c: /f /r" without the
quotes and hit ENTER. Enter Y when asked whether you wish to run chkdsk
on restarting the computer. Exit and restart the computer.

Hope this helps.
