Using Dell Vostro 200 with 3 GB mem, running WinXP Pro, SP3.
Yesterday, my system had about 8 blue screen memory dumps and I
couldn't figure out why. I got 2 different errors (at two different
times): one was DRIVER_CORRUPTED_MMPOOL and the other was
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I did the following: Restored to a
previous restore point, disk cleanup and degrag, complete virus scan,
complete malware scan...nothing changed. I finally realized that the
crash only happened when I opened Internet Explorer. I was using Ver.
6 at the time, so I tried upgrading to 7. Still happens. I then
started using Firefox exclusively and NO PROBLEM! If I try to use IE,
I still get the crash. Firefox is fine, but I won't be able to get
automatic updates. I would like to solve the problem. Any
suggestions? Thanks!
