I attempted to open videos downloaded from my camera using my Windows Media
Player. In the past I have been able to view these videos but today I am
getting the error that the codec is not supported. Not sure how this happened
or if there was an update that is not compatible but I am in need of help.
Any advise would be appreciated.

I got the same thing (years ago) and installed VLC media player
(free). If the video is playable, VLC will most likely do it. I
still use WMP11, but only for audio files which it does a decent job.
I am fed up with Microsoft complaints about codecs.
