View Full Version : Image files no longer launch on double clicking

Hello,

I have a problem with opening image files. Normally, double click should
open the default image browser/editor. However, nothing currently happens.
If I right click the image, then select "open with", and select any one of
the image browsers/editors available, the app launches - but does not open
the file. I can only open the file by browsing to the file from within an
app.

Any suggestions?

What are you using? If XP Picture and Fax Viewer:

Start/Run and type in:
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll or regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

Disable or Restore Picture and Fax Viewer (Line 80)

Hello,

Thanks for the quick answer - but no solution works.

As you suggest, I would like to have Windows Image and Fax viewer as my
default - but it won't launch on double clicking...

Sorry - I spoke too soon.

Your line 80 solution to restore Win Im and Fax viewer did the trick after a
reboot.

Many thanks!
