On a P2 XP machine I noticed (when defragging) a folder:
System Volume Information.

My Operation System is on C:
This (System Volume Information) is on D:

It has been created by some unknown program, I suspect.
Kaaza?
I uninstalled Kazaa butt the directory is there & I can't remove.

Any advise?

Every partition (including your C: drive) has a file called System
Volume information. Its a Windows System File, and no, you can't delete
it.

Hi

That folder holds the files for System Restore. If you haven't disabled =
SR - there should be a 'System Volume Information' folder on your C: =
drive as well - and on all other partition that SR hasn't been disabled =
on. You can see which drives SR in monitoring by right clicking on My =
Computer, selecting Properties and then clicking the System Restore tab.

It was created by a well known "program" called Windows XP.
It's a normal part of the OS, and should be there, leave it alone.

Thanks Will,

From "My Computer" I disabled the 'System Volume Information'
on D: and I was able to reclaim the space I needed on D:
