I have downloaded the tools - CoreTemp.exe
for monitoring CPU temperature, it was setup to run when the XP starts.

Recently everytime I start up XP SP3 I got a message box that the CoreTemp
has another instanace is running.

However, I checked
Start -> All Programs -> Startup

I cannot find the CoreTemp, I don't remember how did I install this program.
There is no entry in Control Panel neither.

Autoruns.exe shows what programs are configured to startup automatically
at system boot and at login, plus list of Registry and file locations
where applications can configure auto-start settings.

It's probably set in the registry. Try Mike Lin's StartUp Control Panel -
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml, adds a very useful applet into Control
Panel for managing startups. Alternatively, check CoreTemp's
settings/preferences.

Pull (but don't delete yet) the shortcut out of the Startup folder, reboot,
and see if it still starts up. If it does, it's more than likely starting
from the registry and you can delete the shortcut you pulled from the
Startup folder.
