System Restore

I had a General Protection Fault the other day and my
system would not boot up at all. So I had to re-install
XP. No big deal except for having to do all the critical
updates again. Anyway, my system restore doesn't work
anymore. When I try to execute it I get the following:
"rstrui.exe - Entry Point Not Found; The procedure entry
point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be
located in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll."
Is there a solution to get my system restore to work
again without having to re-install XP again?
