View Full Version : XP and IE6

I have a laptop with XP pro installed and IE6. I want to
know if there is a way to find if I have a 32 bit version
or 2 64 bit system.
When I access IE6 I have no problem getting to web sites
other than those that have a security setting on it. I
have lowered all the security settings to low or medium-
low with no success. All I get is "The page cannot be
displayed."

Any help would be appreciated.

if you have to ask, you've got 32 bit.

last one was 8.02 am today. Please scroll through at least a couple of

You have the 32-bit edition. Anybody who has to ask the question is =
running the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version requires special =
hardware. It and the hardware have come down in price, but are still =
substantially more expensive than the standard consumer PCs you see =
around. Very few home users are using it.

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. If you see 64-bit in
there anywhere u have 64 it it does not say 64 then u have 32.

btw, ppl if your going to post just to tell them to go find the answer them
self's, why waste your time posting?

Hallo,
Besides the twice daily answered foolish question about 32 or 64 bit
systems, the question in your second paragraph has absolutely nothing
to do with that. If at all it's about the encryption depth your IE
supports, and that should usually be 128bit! If that is not the case
you'll find likely an update when you ask your windows to do so.
Besides that there are far more settings in the IE options which may
prevent you from accessing secure websites.
