I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite U400 with XP Pro pre-installed. During
set up I declined to register my copy of XP since I was not yet connected to
the internet. Now I wish to do so, but the registration wizard crashes each
time I try to submit the information.
I am starting the wizard by typing regwiz /r in the "run" window.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

What happens when you go to All programs/Activate Windows?

There is no "Activate Windows" since it came on my new computer already
activated.

Why do you want to register?

You can use Windows without registering, it's perfectly OK.

I just get the generic "Registration wizard has encountered a problem and has
to close. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of
something you might lose your work." Generic message, no specifics. Then it
tells me I can send an error report to Windows. (Which I do.) I can view
the date in the report, but there is no way to copy it to this message. I
also can't seem to attach a screen capture to this message, either.
I think there's somewhere you can go back and see various errors, but it's
been so long since I've done it I can't remember where it is...
