This may seem like an odd question to put in the XP newsgroups, but does
anyone know where I can download the original Windows Vienna iso image, the
Vienna that was originally planned to be released after XP but Vista replaced
it (ugh)?

No, no, no. Vista did not replace Vienna. Before versions of Windows
are released and given a marketing name, within Microsoft they have
code names. Vienna was a code name for what is now called Windows 7.

There are have lots of such code names. Here are a few of the most
commonly-known recent ones:

Chicago Windows 95
Memphis Windows 98
Whistler Windows XP
Longhorn Windows Vista
Blackcomb, Vienna Windows 7

I tried, it only brought up downloads for Windows 7, which I already have
the RC. I know there is a Vienna download out there somewhere, because my
friend has it.

Yes, I know that, but Windows 7 codename Vienna and Blackcomb was originally
planned for release before Vista, but then they postponed it until after the
Vista release.

I'll repeat what I said: Vienna is Windows 7. If your friend has a
version called "Vienna" and you have Windows 7 RC, he has an older
poorer test version than you have.

Yes, I know Vienna is Windows 7. I did find out what he had though. It was
something called Windows Vienna V2 XP, which was XP as the base but with the
original Windows 7 features.
