If you windows xp box is on a fat32 partition, you can
bootup off of a floppy disk and delete the SAM file in
the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\
since it is a hidden, system file, you need to use the
ATTRIB -a -h -r -s SAM to unhide and unprotect it.
After this file has been deleted, reboot, login with
Administrator and no password- voila.
If you are running NTFS, it is trickier. You will need
to download and make an NTFS bootdisk < easier said than
done >
I have found many of the Linux flavor that allow you to
boot the NTFS partition and delete the SAM file.
hope this helps!
