Cannot open MS Works 2000 Files with XP

I recently bought a new PC with WinXP Home Ed. After
copying Works 2000 (version 5.0.2002.0) files, written on
my old PC (Win98) via CD to my documents, I find that I
cannot open them. Windows says it cannot open them
(.WKS), searches online, comes up empty. Have I lost all
of my inventory spreadsheets, word processor files,
etc.? I have Word 2000 SR-1 loaded on the machine, with
all format conversions run from computer, but no joy!

have you got the Works Installation CD? Re-install it on your new PC. It
should work.
