I have a machine here build with a Dual Boot Windows 98
and Windows XP home Edition.
Both on different disk.
XP (c)
98 (d)
Xp docs (e)
I have to rebuild de PC with windows XP
professionnal ..... but I have to keep 98 partition.
Will WinXP pro detect 98 after reinstallation if I unplug
98 disk(for data protection)??????
Is NO .... is there a procedure after reinstallation to
tell to WinXP that there are an other 98 partition in the
second disk ????
If I copy my current boot.ini .... an put it back in my
new installation ... is it going to work ????
Thanks a lot for your help !!

Hi Steve,
If you simply upgrade the Home system to WinXP Pro, it should retain the =
native dual boot. There is no need to disconnect the drive containing =
Win98. Otherwise, you might boot the WinXP CD and run bootcfg /rebuild =
from the Recovery console (see below).
HOW TO: Install and Use the Recovery Console in Windows XP [Q307654]
