For the second time this month I have received email
supposedly from microsoft that I need to download "the
attached file" concerning network security pack for a
cumulative patch. I have not requested this help and my
Norton antivirus deletes the attachment which suggests to
me that this is a hoax. Have any of you experienced this
and if so other than deleting this what should I do to
keep from receiving it? Does Microsoft need to know and
how do I tell them?

It's a virus. Microsoft does not mail patches to anyone.

You should delete it. Do not "install" it.
