View Full Version : Computer remembering password - HELP!

I have very recently rebooted my pc and I am having
problems with passwords and login to a particular site. I
have never had such a problem before (even after previous
reboots) but when i have entered my user name and
password and I check the 'remember password' box, I
receive an error message that the username or password
does not match the password stored on my computer. It
then asks whether i want to change the remembered
password to the one i have just entered. The error
message comes in the form of an exclamation mark
with 'auto complete' below it.

Currently, I am on administrator on Windows XP home and
have not yet set up any passwords with this nor any other
accounts. So why does it say that passwords dont match?
Also, I am very sure that i turned off auto complete
(when the box first appeared)...what happened?

So can anyone help me here? I have looked at Knowledge
base etc and i still dont have a clue. How do i access
the page where i can turn autocomplete off or go to the
page where i can configure the password stored on the
computer.

Thanks in advance

Clear out old passwords and start again fresh: Start Internet Explorer,
click Tools, Internet Options, Content, Click on auto complete, click clear
passwords then click Ok twice. Restart browser.
