View Full Version : Blue/Green Screen Stop Error

Most of the times I receive the following blue screen stop error after the
Windows logo and progress bar disappear upon booting up Windows. This
prevents me from getting into Windows and I have to turn my laptop on and off
several times to eventually get into Windows. Sometimes the screen that
contains this stop error is green rather than blue and has the progress bar
remained on it! Here’s the error:

BAD_POOL_HEADER
Technical Information:
STOP: 0x00000019 (0x00000020,0x8288A108,0x8288A130,0x0A050002)

Some of the parameters in the parentheses vary with each new error.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

None of the search results suggest a resolution applicable to my case. Please
be more specific.

This page has stop errors.

http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm

I'd test my memory with memtest86+.

I'd determine the brand of hard drive, then download a diagnostic
from the disk manufacturer, and give that a try. The diagnostic
I have here, is read-only, so doesn't attempt any writes (but
I understand some diagnostics do have destructive options if
you want to try them).

i also use a Knoppix LiveCD for testing and maintenance, to prove
whether the observed problem is present with both OSes or not.
If you don't see a problem in Knoppix, but see it in Windows,
then it could be some kind of file corruption.
