Judy;
Login to an Administrator account.
Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel.
Select one of your kids.
If the kids are Administrators, click "Change account type" and change
to Limited User.
Then click "Change the password" change password to something they
can not figure out.
Repeat process with other kids.
when you are ready to give them access, you can either give the
password you created or go in and delete their password.
Then reboot, tapping F8 about once a second.
Choose Safe Mode at the menu, select Administrator.
Then go to User Accounts and password Administrator.
It is important that you tightly control all Administrators, as Any
Administrator can do and undo anything any Administrator can do.

Take appropriate precautions so as not to lose your password.
