Backup Operators Console

I need to find out how to control backup operations
through the XP PRO Backup Managment Console? My HP DVD
200i does not respond while attempting to execute a
backup through such console. The writer only responds
properly directly, running explicitly with HP's DLA or
Simple Backup programs.

I noticed that the Backup console about box on XP 2000
PRO says that the present Microsoft backup console is
from Veritas (HP). I called HP and they said to contact
Microsoft for a possible driver download which I was
unable to find on Microsofts website.

NTbackup can write to tape or disk.
I have seen no update for it.
