Cannot log on as administrator

My keyboard will not work after system restore.Message
says either corrupt or missing driver.Mouse functions,
until I press any key on keyboard,then neither mouse or
keyboard work.I cannot log on as administrator, and I
have tried f8 during boot up but log screen comes up as
normal.How can I get into my computer to restore with no
keyboard.If I click on guest(no password required) I cant
do anything as I have do not have the permissions.Tried
disconnecting the power source after shutdown,left it
overnight but nothing happened.Any help with this will be
so much appreciated.

Sorry to think in a simple way but... Are you holding F8 pressed down ? or
you are tapping on it ?

Tapping is the way to do it to get to the 'Safe mode' menu ;)

P.S is the keyboard plugged correctly ? (you never know... might be half way
in)
