818043 Recommended Update

Downloaded this update but cannot get the computer to
finish loading windows back up it just looks as if
windows is loading up but you can see that the hard drive
has stopped please can any one help

Graham;
Reboot, tapping F8 once a second, choose Safe Mode.
Select Administrator.
After Windows is up, reboot and see if you can get to normal Windows.
If not, go back to Safe Mode.
Then try System Restore:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Choose a date/time before this started.
