View Full Version : Constant Login Loop

I have just moved my harddrive to a new computer. After doing the Windows XP
repair I get to the login screen, type in my password and it immediately
asked me if I want to activiate Windows XP. If I say yes it brings me to a
blank screen and it just sits there. I can move the mouse around but that is
it. If I say no to the question for activiation it logs me and immediately
logs me off. I can get into Safe Mode without a problem.

Help!

Hi,

Moving a hard disk with installed Windows will hardly ever work
as the new hardware is totally different. The old unstalled drivers
support the old hardware while there are no drivers for the new hardware.
You should at least install a network card driver to get to online windows
activation. But I doubt the windows activation will ever work as the
hardware
has drastically changed. This might become an endless struggle.

Better buy a new Windows license.
