disk defragmenter error message

i can't seem to use the disk defragmenter as i get a error message of
diskdefragmenter has dected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the Volume
HP_Pavilion ( c: ) Please run Chkdsk/f. , what does this mean and how do i
fix it

Hi jag. rt/click on your C: drive...Properties...Tools...Check now.
Tick...Automatically fix file system errors...then hit the start button.
Let it do its job.
