Sounds to me like the data is corrupted, from my
experiences with similair problems. Have you tried
running CHKDSK/Scandisk on the original drive/s? If not,
I'd suggest doing so as it might retrieve at least some,
if not all, of the data that now appears to be lost. Good
luck.
