Recently found a slightly odd effect. If I close down my PC and do not
switch off the power supply plugs for my peripherals, including my Freeagent
external drive, I cannot reboot my system ! If I switch off and then switch
on again it appears to load up OK. This effect only appears if my Freeagent
is connected to a USB port. Without the external HD connected it seems to
make no difference whether I unplug the periphals, as long as I switch them
all on before booting up.

This is not a seriously problem, more perplexing, but I post in case someone
is getting this boot up problem......and of course in case SKS can explain
why this occurs :-))

Try removing USB from the BIOS boot sequence.

Is your BIOS set to boot from USB devices. I have occasionally had to
completely disable booting from USB even though the USB device was not first
on the list of boot devices.

Don't think this is a bott sequence problem otherwise it would happen
whenever I boot up. It only appears if I do not switch off the external HD
at the plug when closing down. As I said it's not a real problem..more of a
curiosity :-))
