files lost

i had to re-install windows xp on my computer and so, all
of the programs and other files that were on the computer
got "lost"...is there anyway to retrieve them?

if you did a "Clean Install" of windows no their is no way to get them back.
even if you did an repair install you still might need to reinstall many of
your programs if they dont seem to work.

no, if you did a repair install they should be in the same they were. if
you did a clean install to begin with none of your programs or documents are
on your computer.

If you did a repair, your files should be exactly where you left them. If
you performed a full install with disk format, they are irrevocably gone.
If your files on disk are not where you left them, then chances are they are
lost.
