I just set up XP SP 3 on a friend's computer. He doesn't like the XP search
feature and wants the classic search. I did the prescribed thing. I
installed Tweak UI and checked "Use Classic Search in Exploer". For kicks I
also double checked it in the registry and it's set appropriately. I know
I'm not supposed to have to reboot but did anyway. I have these same
settings on my machine as I don't like the little doggie either and it works
fine for me. But when I right click a folder on my friend's computer and
click the search option I still get the newer XP version. Any ideas why this
would happen?

Uninstall Windows (Desktop) Search & reboot.

Ugh. My fault. I did a windows update after installing SP3 and ended up also
installing windows search 4. Took it off and solved the problem. Thanks for
the info. Much appreciated.
