I have XP Pro on my work pc. Today when I clicked on a shortcut to a
program or the executable itself, I received an error, saying the file
wasnt found and told me how to search for it! But I clicked on the
exe!
Only way around this, was to right click the file or shortcut, click
"run as" and change the selection to the person logged on- me! And yes
Im the administrator.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Sounds like you moved some shortcuts and they kept their original
permissions. Go to the folder where the shortcuts are kept, right-click
to the security tab, click the Advanced button and replace permission
entries on the child objects to inherit the parent permissions. This
should fix all the shortcuts in that folder in one go.

That could be the Klez virus. Update your AV scanner and run it. If you
detect Klez, you may have to use the manual removal instructions from
your AV vendor. Actually, I combine the instructions from all the AV
vendors to remove Klez. It's hard to get rid of.
