I have been trying to set my computer so that I can use
both the welcome screen and the fast switching. However,
whenever I select these options to be applied, nothing
happens. I need help!!

Hi Carmen,

No reason you can't use both, unless perhaps you have offline folders
enabled (XP Pro only)?

While I appreciate your reply, I do not see how that has
any bearing on my problem. I realize that I should be able
to do both, but for whatever reason, I am not able to do
EITHER. What could the problem be (I have followed the
instructions to the letter and it still does not work..and
I am on a workgroup, not a domain)??

Hi Carmen,

The comment was meant to convey that you cannot use fast-user switching or
enable it *if* offline folders are enabled on the system.

Start/run 'control userpasswords2'

On the advanced tab, is the option requiring users to use ctrl+alt+delete
enabled (secure logon near the bottom)?
