searchs misdirected

All my search engines are misdirected to other sites than those I click on.

Did all of that...will keep on trying ..but would like some additional
suggestions

You could check your HOST file but I would think any decent malware scanner
would do that anyway.

I ran five malware programs and found many problems...but I still cannot
hibernate and I still have mis-directed searches.

Superantispyware should have removed any IE Add-ons, but you might try
Internet Options, Programs tab, "Manage Add-ons" button, and disable any
Add-ons that aren't described as MS or other known companies' Add-ons.
You can also try running IE in "No Add-ons" mode to see if that helps.

Thank you again..did all the IE "add on" disabling and still am misdirected
for searches.

When I use "Slimbrowser" searches are fine. When I use Firefox and Opera
searaches are misdirected.

help... still have mis-directed searches

Since two staples, Malwarebytes and SAS haven't been able to find the
cause, you might try the following; running the rootkit detector from
Bitdefender would definitely get past any known rootkit that is taking
control of your OS. The regular scan should take care of anything else
missed by compromised a/v software. Here's my normal post on the subject:

Burn BitDefender, or another program listed at the link below, to a CD
(using a working machine) and test the infected machine with it.
BitDefender also has a Rootkit checker on the Linux Desktop; run it if
you think that's the problem:

Download the executable rather than the .iso image, if one is available,
(though no .exe is available for BitDefender).

After the scan is run, if you elect to quarantine files, they're
quarantined to RAM and lost after you reboot. You'll need to copy any
quarantined files to the hard drive, a thumb drive or elsewhere before
exiting.

I downloaded the Yahoo IE version. It removed the old IE version and it
installed the Yahoo version and it downloaded and ran the MS Malware
program.

So far there are no mis-directions from the searach engines. Hope it stays
that way.. Thank you for all your hel[p.
