How do I stop programs from starting everytime I turn on
my computer? I do not want to delete the program, just
don't want to have to close it every time I start the
machine!!

Thank you

Go to START > RUN and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter. Then look
under the STARTUP tab for programs you do not want to start. Uncheck
those and click APPLY.

That's certainly a good way to stop them, however I would recommend prior to
using that method - check the options in the program itself that starts up,
and see if there is an option to have it run on startup, and if so disable
that option.
Many programs do have this option, I would ony use MSConfig if I really had
to.

Yes! That is the perfered way to accomplish this.

But Nicholas gets stuck in a groove and sometimes gives
incorrect/incomplete information. Is it a reading problem
or a comprehension problem?

Look at each program's Options or Configuration. Many programs will give =
you the option to not start automatically.

For any that do not have the option, you can stop them from starting =
automatically by going to Start | Run and entering MSCONFIG. Stop them =
on MSCONFIG's startup tab.
